Opening hours of the Speakers Ready Room

The central Speakers Ready Room is located in Conference Room Straßburg.

Wednesday 17.9.2008 15.00-18.00 hrs
Thursday 18.9.2008 7.00-19.00 hrs
Friday 19.9.2008 7.00-18.30 hrs
Saturday 20.9.2008 7.00-18.30 hrs
Sunday 11.9.2008 7.30-15.00 hrs



Speaking times

Lectures (R):
10 minutes, 2 minutes discussion

Oral presentations (V):
7 minutes, 3 minutes discussion

Short oral presentations (K):
5 minutes, 2 minutes discussion

In order to guarantee a smooth organization of the entire programme, all speakers are requested to keep to their allocated presentation times. The chairperson of each session will be entitled to interrupt a presentation if a speaker exceeds the time allocated.



Poster Exhibition

Poster authors are expected to be present at their posters at the times indicated below. Chairpersons will check the presence of poster authors. Those who are not present will be excluded from participation in the following year. The scientific posters will be exhibited during the entire congress in the Foyer 3 of the Convention Center. All posters must be mounted by Thursday, 18 September 2008, 9.00 hrs and left there until Sunday, 21 September 2008, 12.00
hrs.
To the three best posters a prize will be awarded. All posters should be prepared in English.
Standard poster walls will be available in the Poster Exhibition (Foyer 3 of the Convention Center). The maximum size of a poster should be DIN A0 (84.10 cm wide x 118.90 cm high).
Adhesive material and help will be available to poster authors from the Poster Help Desk in the Poster Exhibition.
Posters will be exhibited as follows: The organisers will remove posters that have not being removed by the times indicated above and will deposit them at the Registration Counter, where they will remain until 14.00 hrs on Sunday, 21 September 2008 and if unclaimed will then be disposed.

Poster Discussion
First authors are requested to attend their posters for questions and discussion as follows:

P 001 to P 090: Thursday, 18.9.2008, 13.00-14.30 hrs at the poster
P 091 to P 182: Friday, 19.9.2008, 12.00-13.30 hrs at the poster
P 183 to P 276: Saturday, 20.9.2008, 12.00-13.30 hrs at the poster

Video Presentation

Video presentations are an important and effective means of presenting scientific results. Therefore, videos will be presented and discussed during the video sessions on Thursday, 18 September, 14.00-16.00 hrs. In addition, videos will be displayed on a monitor during the entire
congress (from Thursday to Sunday) in the Estrel foyer opposite to the Estrel Lecture Hall.
The DOG will publish awarded videos on its homepage.
Therefore, authors who would like to make their video available to the DOG are requested to consider that the videos do not show any data which are subject to payment for copyrights and technical reproduction.
The Video Award of the DOG, donated by *Acri.Tec® AG, will be granted at the end of the video session.

Projection

A central Speakers Ready Room will be available in Conference Room Straßburg during the entire congress. Each meeting room is equipped with a laptop and a data projector. Own laptops cannot be connected in the rooms. All presentations must be uploaded in advance to the network.
All presentations should be submitted to http://dog2008.m-talk.de between 1 and 15 September 2008. Therefore authors will receive a separate e-mail from M Events Cross Media GmbH with access information and instruction. Only MS-Powerpoint (XP and higher) and PDF presentations with video formats as specified on the upload site are permitted for this conference. Do not forget to bring your video files as they cannot be embedded into the presentation.

On site please submit your files 2 hours before your talk at the latest. If you speak in the first session in the morning please submit your files the day before. You may check and/or alter your presentation yourself in the Speakers Ready Room (Room Straßburg) up to two hours prior to your presentation (max. 10 Minuten per Speaker). Please note that the M Events staff members cannot revise your presentation.
For the submission of your presentation on-site, CDs, USB sticks, or similar will be accepted.
After the congress all submitted files will be deleted from all storage media.



Publication of Scientific Papers

Scientific contributions that have been accepted for presentation have to be handed in in publishable format for peer reviewing no later than 31 October 2008. Publication is possible in either German or English. Please send your manuscript to the respective editors:

presentations and short oral presentations are obliged to submit their contributions for review and publication by one of the following journals: “Der Ophthalmologe”, “Klinische Monatsblätter für
Augenheilkunde” or “Graefe’s Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology”. Contributions accepted for publication by one of the above journals may not be submitted for publication elsewhere.

All authors are kindly asked to observe the “Instruction for Authors” of the respective journals. Manuscripts not accepted for publication after the review process will be returned to the respective author with the reviewers’ evaluation.
